Description: Lundhs Blue Classic granite is a coarse-grained monzonite with medium-sized blue feldspar crystals. This stone internationally may be nominated as a granite but in the area of application of the European Standard this stone must be nominated as a monzonite. A small sample is usually representative of the whole slab not having a wide variation in colour and veining however see below since there are nine quarries with two types and five quality selections including the well-known Blue Pearl GT. During the polishing process a clear epoxy resin filler may be used to fill any micro fissures or tiny pitting however this does not affect the integrity of the stone, it merely provides an even smoother surface finish. Lundhs Blue Classic granite is suitable for both interior and exterior use futhermore is frost resistant and with a constant polish.
Products: Suitable for construction projects both commercial and domestic, prefabricated countertops/worktops, vanities, tiles, backsplashes, paving, fireplaces and memorials.
Surface Finish: Lundhs Blue Classic granite looks best with a gloss polished surface but is also available as honed, leather/satin, river-washed/antique, thermal/flamed, brushed and sandblast finish.
Sealing: Test with a small sample. It is possible that a sealant can be used on Lundhs Blue Classic granite however excessive attempts at sealing it could actually create a residue film build-up.
Block Sizes: There are nine different Lundhs Blue Pearl granite quarries with two colour selections, HQ and Classic, and five quality types of blocks 1st Choice, 2nd Choice Extra Fine, 2nd Choice Selected, 2nd Choice & 3rd Choice. Further choices may be offered for smaller block selection. For commercial projects it is important to ensure that blocks are selected from the same quarry face.

Monzonite: Monzonite is a plutonic igneous rock intermediate in composition between syenite and diorite. An intrusive igneous rock that contains abundant and approximately equal amounts of plagioclase and potash feldspar, it also contains subordinate amounts of biotite and hornblende and sometimes minor quantities of orthopyroxene. Quartz, nepheline, and olivine, which are occasionally present, produce quartz, nepheline, and olivene monzonites. Monzonite is not a rare rock type, but it generally occurs in rather small, heterogeneous masses associated with (and perhaps gradational to) diorites, pyroxenites, or gabbros.
